Five men have been found dead, apparently with their throats cut, in an apartment in Birmingham Alabama.
Police told The Birmingham News they found the men just before 6pm Wednesday after being sent to the apartment for a welfare check.
Local news outlets reported their throats had been slashed but that could not be immediately confirmed.
Investigators hadn’t determined how long the men had been dead. Authorities were also still trying to identify them.
There is very little information coming out on this story.
Sheriff’s Department Capt. Ken Burchfield said investigators still were trying to complete positive identifications of all the victims, nearly a day after their bodies were discovered.
Officers went to the suburban Cahaba Lakes complex after receiving a call from someone who was unable to get in touch with a friend at the apartment. They initially had difficulty entering because the door was bolted, but found the bodies when they got in about 6 p.m. Wednesday.
