ABC reports the details of how suicide bomber Al-Balawi convinced American CIA agents he was their friend and a high value informant. A deception that would lead to the tragic deaths of 7 of the country’s top agents involved in the hunt for al Qaeda and Osama bin Laden.
About 13 CIA agents, such as exclusive contractors with the organization formerly identified as Blackwater, were to meet with eachother to hear the informant’s statement once the bomb blew up. Seven of the nine individuals killed were CIA operatives. The suicidal bomber attracted the operatives to the gathering simply by saying that he just met with Ayman al-Zawahiri, the country’s 2nd most wanted terrorist, ABC reports.
