Brian Ross of ABC reports that although there is no specific threat, President Obama commanded several federal air marshals to get in position before February 1, and has officials saying it was obviously a “race against time,” because additional suicide bombers may have been within the terrorist pipeline.
As an initial strategy based on the statement, officials stated the already established federal air marshal force in excess of 3,200 members would certainly be used virtually exclusively to international flights flown by U.S. carriers.
