Brad Thor ‘The Last Patriot’

Let me start by saying this, Brad Thor is one of the bravest men I know. He is cut from the cloth of an era when men stood up for what they believed in. He is unafraid and unflinching in his commitment to do and say what he believes is honorable and right.

Samuel Johnson said, “courage is reckoned the greatest of all virtues; because, unless a man has that virtue, he has no security for preserving any other”.  Brad Thor has courage.

From the first page to the last, his newest book, The Last Patriot grabs your attention and holds it relentlessly with a passion that is unequaled in the political thriller genre.

Although some might compare The Last Patriot to works such as The DaVinci Code or National Treasure, Brad Thor’s political/religious/historical thriller stands in a class all it’s own. It’s a fast-paced, gripping, edge-of-your seat blend of fiction and historical fact that you won’t be able to put down.

In it, Scot Horvath, the lead character, has recently left his job as a Homeland Security operative. (Some of our readers may identify with his character) While on vacation in Paris, he’s drawn back into the world of intelligence and intrigue when he witnesses the attempted car bomb killing of professor Anthony Nichols and is forced to take action.

Professor Nichols it turns out holds the key to an ever-deepening mystery involving the Quran. The premise is that a newly discovered manuscript exists containing the last revelation of Muhammad. A revelation that if revealed to the world, would completely change the face, culture and nature of Islam.

Thor carefully and convincingly weaves fact with fiction as his character, Horvath, barely one step ahead of those who are out to stop him, searches for clues through several seemingly unrelated historical events, all the while building towards an unexpected, breathtaking climax.

The Last Patriot is a must read.

As you can imagine, threats have been made against Brad’s life and he has been forced to add security precautions. However; while speaking to Glenn Beck recently he summed up his feelings when he stated that “Islam is getting a free pass,” and he has the right to write anything he wants to write and Muslims have the “right not to read it.”

Courage.
