The Mexican government has not linked the arrested South African Mohammed Ariff to any terrorist organisation and has deported him to South Africa.

Mexican ambassador to South Africa, Mauricio y Campos, said on Tuesday that Ariff, 29, had been deported on August 2 after being arrested on arrival at Tihuana airport near the United States border.
