British Airways flight A983 has made an emergency landing at Schipol airport in Amsterdam as a result of a “specific threat” to the flight, BA has said.

The crew on the aircraft, which was carrying 118 passengers from Berlin to London, asked ground staff in the Netherlands for a military escort.

Laser injures Delta pilot’s eye

A pilot flying a Delta Air Lines jet was injured by a laser that illuminated the cockpit of the aircraft as it approached Salt Lake City International Airport last week, U.S. officials said.

The plane’s two pilots reported that the Boeing 737 had been five miles from the airport when they saw a laser beam inside the cockpit, said officials familiar with government reports of the Sept. 22 incident. The flight, which originated in Dallas, landed without further incident at about 9:30 p.m. local time.

Police investigating fake FBI agent

Authorities are investigating the case of a fake FBI agent who was nosing around Skyhaven Airport in Rochester, asking questions about security.

Police say a man wearing a jacket that said FBI Anti-Terrorism showed up at the airport last Wednesday and began asking about airport entrances and security. He took off when Skyhaven employees chased him away from hangars and called police.

Kyrgyzstan foils plutonium plot’
