We have received these reports before, however in most cases, the reports are quickly dismissed by officials in both Iraq and the United States. Today’s response of “no comment” by Iraqi officials differs greatly from previous responses. We will update this story, as information is received.
Iraq’s interior minister on Saturday refused to comment on rumors that the top terror leader in the country had been taken into custody.
“I wouldn’t like to comment for the time being,” Interior Minister Falah al-Naqib said when asked about rumors that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi had been arrested. “Let’s see. Maybe in the next few days we will make a comment about it.”
Pressing him, a reporter asked, “Does that mean he is in custody?”
“No comment,” the minister repeated.
Victims’ families criticize ‘Al Qaeda Reader’

The original thoughts of Osama bin Laden and other al Qaeda leaders will be made available in English next year in a book, “The Al Qaeda Reader,” whose publisher says is intended to educate the American people.
The book, which has been criticized by some who suffered in al Qaeda attacks, offers a history of the radical Muslim group, with interviews with bin Laden and his associates and a tract on Islamic struggle by his right-hand man Ayman al-Zawahri.

The group of al-Qaeda frontman Abu Musab al-Zarqawi posted a video on the Internet today showing the beheading of two Iraqis after they “confessed” to working at a US base in the country.

One of the 13 Chinese nationals allegedly involved in a terror plot against Boston was in custody and being questioned by authorities on Saturday.
Authorities were interrogating Mei Xia Dong about her involvement in a possible terrorist plot against Boston that was made public in an FBI report Friday.

A mysterious man who told authorities that four Chinese nationals and two Iraqis were planning a nuclear attack on Boston also named a man known to the DEA, supporting investigators’ suspicions that the caller was using the terrorist threat for his own gain.
According to three law enforcement sources familiar with three cell phone calls the unidentified man made earlier this week to the California Highway Patrol, the caller named a “white male” who was under investigation by the Drug Enforcement Administration.

The Armanious family had inspired several Muslims to convert to Christianity or thought they had. These converts were actually practicing taqiyya, or religious deception, pretending to be friends of these Christians in order to strengthen themselves against them, as in Qur’an 3:28: “Let believers not make friends with infidels in preference to the faithful — he that does this has nothing to hope for from Allah — except in self-defense.”
It was these “converts” who knocked on the door of the Armanious home.
FBI Adds 10 Names to List in Boston Threat

The FBI on Thursday added the names of 10 Chinese to the list of those being sought for questioning about a possible terror plot targeting Boston.
Two law enforcement officials, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, said the names were part of the same anonymous tip that led authorities on Wednesday to announce that they are seeking to question four other Chinese and two Iraqis.

The FBI notified area law enforcement Wednesday to be on the lookout for four possible terror suspects who may be headed to Boston.
A federal law enforcement official, speaking on condition of anonymity because the matter remains under investigation, told The Associated Press that the FBI’s joint terrorism task force has not yet corroborated a tip that the suspects entered the United States through Mexico in recent days, possibly bound for Boston.

Federal and state authorities are investigating a nuclear terrorist threat against Boston after a man calling from Mexico told California police that he smuggled two Iraqis and four Chinese over the border, the Boston Herald has learned.
“They got a call from across the border in Mexico to the California Highway Patrol and he said he brought two Iraqis and four Chinese (individuals) across the border and according to him, they stated soon to follow behind them would be some sort of material,” said a law enforcement source familiar with the investigation.
He refers to some sort of nuclear material that will follow them through New York up into Boston.”
