According to U.S. government officials, al-Qaida is serious about entering our nation illegally through our border with Mexico.

And in the briefing that officials, including CIA chief Porter Goss, gave to lawmakers, the tone seemed to be more worried than in the past.

The U.S.-Mexico border, which spans more than 2,000 miles, is an entryway that has been overwhelmed with illegal crossings in recent years. Cochise County, of course, heads the list of places where illegal immigrants want to cross.
