Robins Air Force Base officials have confirmed that a possible security threat at Tinker Air Force Base, Okla., earlier this month has energized local law enforcement agencies.

Tinker spokeswoman Lt. Candice Adams said late Thursday that suspicious activity did occur July 14 at the Oklahoma City installation, although she would not describe the nature of the incident. Several Web sites, as well as syndicated columnist Michelle Malkin, have reported that three Middle Eastern men with binoculars, cameras and what appeared to be a rocket launcher were seen on that date.
