Two Carnegie Mellon University seniors accused of trying to sneak into Heinz Field were released from jail Wednesday after a judge reduced their bond from $1 million to zero.
Anand Shankar Durvasula, 20, of Morgan Hill, Calif., and Sudeep Paul, 21, of Woodbury, N.Y., were arrested early Sunday after surveillance cameras showed them trying to get into the stadium.
District Judge Gene Ricciardi set bond at $1 million each while the FBI investigated possible terrorist activities. The FBI later said the act was “stupid” but not linked to terrorism.
Allegheny County Common Pleas Judge Cheryl L. Allen ordered the men released yesterday after Assistant District Attorney Eric Woltshock said they did not pose a terrorist threat. He did not object to their release.
