A senior Taliban commander says Osama bin Laden is alive but rarely speaks to outsiders any more.
Mullah Dadullah says he hasn’t personally met bin Laden since the fall of the Taliban regime in Afghanistan in late 2001, but in an interview aired by Britain’s Channel Four television, he says bin Laden’s comrades are in touch with him.
He says they exchange messages and go to the battlefield together.
Channel Four doesn’t say how it obtained the footage, and it doesn’t say where it was filmed.
Dadullah also says the Taliban has “hundreds more” suicide bombers ready to attack NATO forces in Afghanistan. NATO commanders have already said they think the Taliban plan a spring offensive against their troops in the country.
