United States Park Police Search for Missing Police Cruiser

Authorities are on the look out for a stolen police cruiser after United States Park Police heard an unfamiliar voice over the department’s radio Sunday morning. An investigation revealed that the mysterious transmission was from the radio of a cruiser that had been sent for service at a local auto shop in Brentwood, Maryland.
Spokesman Robert Lachance said the missing vehicle is a 1998 Ford Crown Victoria with a U.S. Government Registration of I254207. It is a marked United States Park Police unit with overhead lights and K9 6 on the rear corner panels. Lachance said there were no weapons inside the vehicle.

Anyone with information about the missing vehicle is asked to call the United States Park Police at 202-619-7105.
Police are asking drivers in the area to be cautious if pulled over by a car matching the description above. Lachance said, if there are any concerns, drivers should keep windows up until officer shows proper identification, make sure the officer is in uniform, and if something does not feel right to call 9-1-1 and tell them you have been pulled over by a car matching the description above.
