An aspiring actor arrested in three mail-bomb attempts this summer has now been charged with eight counts of attempted murder in a bizarre 2004 bid to poison staff at Toronto modeling agencies.

Adel Arnaout, 37, is accused of injecting chemicals into bottles of water and then having them delivered as “promotional” items to the agencies in June and July of 2004. Investigators say they found evidence connecting Arnaout to that crime while searching his apartment after arresting him Aug. 31 in connection with a series of letter bombs.

“These are not totally random cases, there is a connection with the accused and each of the victims,” said Const. Wendy Drummond.
