Spokane police say a 13-year-old middle school student has been arrested after bringing a loaded gun to school.
Police say the Salk Middle School student brought the weapon for protection because of an ongoing dispute with another student.
Administrators found the .22-caliber automatic weapon in the student’s locker Monday after he told several friends about it and they notified a counselor. School officials say the school was not locked down.
