Adam Gadahn “Azzam The American” Will Deliver New Message From al Qaeda

Adam Gadahn, an American Christian convert to Islam has announced a new video message from is coming from al Qaeda.

The message will be the first message from the organization in 2008.

“Coming soon by the will of God, an invitation to reflection and repentance,” read the banner produced by al-Sahab, al-Qaeda’s media wing, and displayed on a militant web site.

The California-born Gadahn has appeared in a number of videos produced by the al-Qaeda organization and is known as “Azzam the American”.

He was charged with treason in the US in the fall of 2006 and has been wanted since 2004 by the FBI, which is offering a $1 million dollar reward for information leading to his arrest or conviction.

He last appeared on a video in August threatening new attacks on foreign embassies.

From 2004 to 2006 he appeared in a number of videos produced by the organization as “Azzam the American” (’Azzām al-Amrīki, عزام الأمريكي).

He is felt to have inspired bin Laden’s September 2007 video.

In 2004, he was added to the FBI Seeking Information War on Terrorism list.

On October 11, 2006 he was removed from that list, and placed on the Bureau of Diplomatic Security Rewards for Justice list of wanted terrorists.

On the same day, Gadahn was indicted in the Southern Division of the United States District Court for the Central District of California by a federal grand jury for treason. He is the first American charged with treason since 1952.
