Almost 200 sticks of dynamite along with blasting caps and several bags of ammonium nitrate were stolen Thursday from three storage buildings on Carpenter Road off Highway 321.
According to reports by Dep. David Parton and Chief Detective Robert Caldwell, the dynamite, blasting caps and bags of ammonium nitrate were stolen from Elmo Greer and Sons Construction Company, which has been contracted to construct the new Highway 321 project.
Chief Detective Caldwell said the ATF sent three agents to the area yesterday to investigate the crime and the FBI along with TBI agents have been notified. Neither estimates regarding the value of the stolen dynamite, nor suspects involved in the crime have been reported at present time.
