Two Mexican thugs choked me and beat me, then stole my wallet and identification. I was not drinking nor drunk. NO MEXICAN CITIZEN CAME TO MY HELP! NO MEXICAN CITIZEN TRIED TO ASSIST ME AS I LAY UNCONSCIOUS ON THE SIDEWALK! When I finally woke up I had to stagger three blocks to find a police car. I collect AK, AR, and other military rifles as a hobby, but wonder if there were folks who had the firepower I have in Mexico - would they use them to stand up to the desperate actions of the cartels, endangering their families. I don't know either way, I try to imagine having to make the choice to risk my family for my city - when I wonder how much government corruption is behind all this violence. I think I'd keep my head down and defend what was mine unless I felt support from a much stronger entity then the Mexican Government has shown itself to be. I'd love to hear other viewpoints. Level the playing field a little and let the common citizens have guns. I don't have any answers ,but I do think that the U.S should be very concerned. I think that we should consider deploying the U.S military to help the Mexican people.
