Colombia’s vice president has told the main world disarmament body in Geneva that police have found computer evidence indicating the FARC movement has been trying to get radioactive material to build dirty bombs.
Francisco Santos said Colombian police found the evidence in two computers discovered with slain rebel leader Raul Reyes.
Santos said the leftist Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia were apparently negotiating for radioactive material. He described the radioactive material as the primary basis for generating crude weapons of mass destruction and terrorism.
Colombia has already disclosed that it found documents suggesting the rebels have bought and sold uranium.
