One of the largest casinos in Oklahoma is evacuated tonight, but authorities are not immediately saying why that was necessary.
Riverwind Casino patron Mike Bollinger of Norman tells The Associated Press that people inside the casino were asked to leave the building about 9:45 p.m. but were not told why.
The Oklahoman, citing a McClain County emergency dispatcher, is reporting that there was a bomb threat at the casino, which is about 25 miles south of Oklahoma City.
No one answered the phone at the casino, which is operated by the Chickasaw Nation. Katy Denny, a dispatcher for the Lighthorse Police of the Chickasaw Nation, says that agency is handling the incident but says she has been instructed to say no more about it.
Bollinger says that as people exited the casino, they stood by its entrance, but after a few minutes, they were told to move away from the building.
He says authorities never told the casino patrons what could be going on.
