For a very high profile reporter and anchor lady, with numerous awards, it is very impossible for her to get kidnapped. If you hold a very high government position in a certain city or province and you know for sure that a person like Ms. Drilon and her crew is visiting your area, what should you do? Of course maximum protection. But what happened…not unless…

Thank God they were safe…

The kidnapping event of ces drilon and crew has left a mark nationwide. Their released created both positive and negation reactions to the filipino people…
Coming in to Sulu province to cover some stories of ASG is not an easy task, especially so it involves the group and their jungle lives…it really mean RISK… They really have to expect that… Risk of their personal lives and the people in the highland … Ngayon naranasan na ni ces ang mamuhay sa kagubatan at nakita na niya ang mukha ng kahirapan dito sa southern philippines….O ngayon SCOOP TO THE HIGHEST LEVEL NA SI CES! Ang dapat gawin ni presidente gloria para sa mga taga Sulu ay resolbahin ang kahirapan HINDI BALA O BOMBA na nag-iiwan ng masamang epekto sa agrikultura at ekonomiya.. Heto ngayon tumutunog na naman ang pagsabog ng mortar at M-79 dito sa Sulu…

hi im mel from cyprus.i shaking when i read the news about cess drillon in was very dissapointed to abu sayyaf group trabaho lng nmn ang ipinunta nila dun sana pakawalan na po sila.sana maliwanagan sila ng isip na wag na sila gumawa ng kidnap 4 ransom.and sa mga reporters and camera man sana wag na silang pupunta sa mga panganib n lugar

well that’s looking at the matter with a really narrow mind. it’s not because for the sake of a “scoop”, as you say, that ces drilon went there in mindanao and looked for “trouble”. Journalists are entrusted with the duty of informing the public. Call it idealistic, but that’s the long and short of it. In fact i applaud her for what she did, not many journalists nowadays are made of sterner stuff than she is, got the balls to do these things. I do hope for you and your crew’s safety, ces

i don’t understand why a news blackout is necessary. is it because drilon is an employee of one of the biggest companies in the philippines? is that how powerful the lopezes are? if so, then i am more sorry for our country than ever. they take command over everything.

to make myself explicit, this is a tragedy. kidnapping has always been a tragedy. and i feel for ces drilon and her crew. i feel for their anxious families.

but how are their lives more important than those priests, children and everybody else that are kidnapped here in the philippines? remember reverend bossi? wasn’t his case made VERY public in 2007, especially by abs-cbn???

she’s looking for trouble and “scoop”.. right? well.. she definitely found what she’s looking for. problem is, this group is not like the military who has the moral values not to “really hurt” them. masyadong matapang eh..tignan na lang natin ngayon. too bad everybody who’s not thinking enough is still blaming the government. but for me..no body else is to blame but ces, her crew, and their vanity for their work. they forgot that there’s no such thing as “journalist’s immunities” with criminals and terrorists.

MANILA, Philippines — Television reporter Ces Drilon and her crew who police said were abducted by local terror group Abu Sayyaf were “alive and well” and being treated fairly by their captors, an official said Tuesday.

“Pinapakain naman sila [They are being fed well], they are well and alive, hindi sila nakatali [they are not tied] and nakakalabas sila [they are able to move around] but they are being escorted,” Chief Superintendent Joel Goltiao, police regional director for the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao told INQUIRER.net in a phone interview, citing reports from the crisis management team formed to negotiate with Drilon’s captors.
