A Kansas City man is recovering after someone attacked him with chemicals in a Union Station parking lot.
Jeff Meuschke said he was driving out of the lot when he noticed an oily substance on his steering wheel. Moments later, his hands, face and eyes started stinging.
A surveillance camera in the parking lot recorded what happened. While Meuschke was at the Union Station post office, a man got out of a black pickup truck and poured something on his Meuschke’s car’s dashboard.
Police aren’t sure what the substance was, but Meuschke said he started stinging shortly after wiping it off his dashboard.
“Wait a minute, I’m burning here,” Meuschke said he thought at the time.
The pain was so bad he had to pull his car over. When he stepped out of his car, he said he realized a man in a truck had been following him. The man laughed at him, gave an obscene gesture and then drove off, Meuschke said.
The pickup truck had a phone number on the back. Meuschke tried dialing it but only reached a voice mail box that was full.
