Police closed part of The Shops at Willow Bend shopping mall Friday as officers investigated a suspicious package.

It was discovered about 11:45 a.m. outside the Macys department store.

Police unfurled yellow crime scene tape through womens clothes racks inside the Macys store closing a portion of it. The stores second floor was also closed temporarily by police order.

Outside, officers blocked off part of the driveway between Macys and the California Pizza Kitchen restaurant with traffic cones and more crime scene tape.

Customers, who could still freely come and go, were corralled inside the Macys store waiting for police to re-open the store.

Part of the mall is also temporarily closed as Planos bomb squad unit figures out what is inside the suspicious package.
