Passengers aboard a Northwest Airlines that evacuated for security reasons were placed on another plane and left for Atlanta at 5 p.m..
The plane was evacuated Friday afternoon while police at Detroit Metropolitan Airport looked into a “suspicious situation,” said Airport spokesman Mike Conway.
The flight was supposed to depart at 1:30 p.m., said Conway. The flight was out of McNamara terminal Gate A19. It’s unknown how many passengers were on board.
“They have taken customers off the plane and re-screening passengers,” said Conway.
Northwest Airlines officials said Flight 467 was delayed due to a “security issue.”
