Several sources are reporting a heightened risk of terror attacks on Jewish organizations, Jewish houses of worship, and Jewish businesses worldwide.

From The Institute of Terrorism Research and Response

To re-affirm the continuing threat to Jewish organizations, Jewish houses of worship, and Jewish businesses. Threat was confirmed by an attack in France 6January2009.

Threat Classification:

Available intelligence and recent events indicate that terrorists have the capability to mount an attack on the target and that such an attack is within the group’s current intent. It is assessed that an attack is likely to be a priority for the terrorists and might well be mounted.

Justification:

On 3 January 2009 the Targeted Actionable Monitoring Center (TAM-C) issued a TAM-C Alert stating that Jewish organizations, houses of worship, and businesses were at increased risk of attack.

Arab language researchers have intercepted internal terrorist communications indicating the intent to target Jewish organizations, their houses of worship, and facilities throughout the world.

TAM-C analysts note that, through the communication’s statement “all that belongs to the Jews worldwide” the target list includes businesses identified as “Jewish owned.”

TAM-C analysts note that the lone-wolf attack that occurred in Denmark is a model for the operations ordered by the communications.

On 6 January2009, a gasoline laden vehicle was rammed into an occupied synagogue in Toulouse, France. A second vehicle containing gasoline “bombs” was found at the scene.

Conclusion:

The potential of terror attack ranging from small arms fire to VBIED is at a high level. The call has been raised for suicide bombings.

Security personnel should be monitoring all forms of intelligence and local conditions for indications and warning signs of such a threat.

Security personnel should be able to coordinate their activities with law enforcement officials.

Despite official U.S. intelligence reports denying specific threat information as a result of Israeli action in Gaza, the Northeast Intelligence Network has confirmed increased terrorist “chatter” that specifically suggests pre-operational planning by Muslim terrorist operatives against Jewish assets and people throughout North America. “Chatter,” in the lexicon of intelligence agencies, encompasses various forms of communications, from communication intercepts to postings on Arabic language message boards.

Investigators and researchers of the Northeast Intelligence Network have seen a dramatic spike in postings on Arabic language web sites used by Islamic terrorists within the last several days. The rise of these communications is obviously in direct relation to Israel’s actions launched against Islamic terrorists in Gaza. Investigators however, have observed a disturbing change not only in the tenor of these postings, but in their specificity.

“The message being sent by Muslim terrorists considered ‘reputable’ Internet sources, as much as one could consider such sources as ‘reputable,’ is one of individual, if not collective action across the globe,” stated Douglas J. Hagmann, director of the Northeast Intelligence Network. “There is a call to action being made over the Internet by posters who have established a perceived level of legitimacy. These posters are the individuals who have achieved a following in the virtual world, based in part on their history of accuracy relative to terrorist operations and their posting history. Their message is to take action against Jews anywhere in the world, including inside the U.S., Canada and all Western countries, as well as their American backers,” stated Hagmann.
