Well I recorded every episode and play them over again to learn from. Not all situations will be the same but some basic common sense skills are valuable especially the ” Home Invasion” episode. Those types of crimes are all too common these days. Keep the episodes coming Cade, as always another excellent show.

The passengers on flight 93 did the right thing. Had they done nothing, they would have died anyway. Their intent was spot on – regain control of the aircraft.

I love this show! I really appreciate Cade Courtley for putting together such a great series. I think it is veary imnportant for us to learn how to take care of ourselves if we are faced with such disasters here in America. Is there any chance that DVD’s are made of each episode? I would really like to be able to purchase one. It is hard to remember every thing that Cade talks about in each episode.
I hope that this show goes on for a very long time!!

I think the show has a lot of good information and recommend it to all. As a many time military and civilian survivior of deadly situations, I applaud the show. I see a few things I believe are not good ideas but over all there is a lot I feel is good information.

I understand the first comment. My husband and I have another couple over every Tuesday to watch this show. The show is clean, and the commercials haven’t been bad either. But I was very shocked when we got on the website to look for the next week’s disaster. So I guess what I’m saying is the show is great we love it! But we will not be getting on the website anymore. too bad because the website is said to have some downloadable survival guides. But spike online is just a pornography site. I know it’s a men’s site but it’s rediculous and definately not a family website or tv channel past 12pm.

Nice show, interesting & important content, well done, good & knowledgeable frontman in Cade Courtley, who clearly has had a distinguished and impressive career and has earned my utmost respect. That being said, I think some of the camp and hokey “Navy Seal” dramatic hand signals (“I’m pointing both my forefinger and my middle finger at my eyes, and then pointing at you, so you should be the point man and be on the lookout during this office building fire”) can be toned down just a bit. In ‘Saving Private Ryan’ panzer attack on the village it was effective, but in the “Surviving Disaster” TV series on Spike TV, it’s a bit too much overdone. Will these types of authentic Navy Seals “pointing at my eyeballs to indicate lookout” hand signals really save my life in a burning office building, hijacked jetliner, or home invasion robbery? I doubt it. Cade, please stick to your incredible fund of useful knowledge and information dissemination, and drop the “Sealsy” hand signal histrionics specially made for Spike TV, as it looks a little bit too camp and too Hollywood and is starting to become annoying.

What you showed on TV was a controlled hijack situation. Everything works great on TV, but in real life it is not that easy. Remember, the panengers on United flight 93, tried to get the control of their plane, and failed.

I think all air travelers should see this first program. I have learned so much! Too bad my husband is traveling, it flies almost every week and would realy like to have seen this show. Will it be available online for all air travelers to view?

I think this will be a great show and very informative. I also wanted to put it out there that my father, Mike Teters, was interviewed for Surviving Disaster by Spike and was going to be on the episode concerning FIRE (just was contacting by Spike TV informing me that his interview did not make the actually show, very bummed). He was in a propane explosion back in 2006, and amazingly he survived it! If you have time to check out his actual story you can read it and news articles at http://www.miketeters.com. Thank you! Ooh, hope this gets to Hulu.com or something similar– looks to be a very useful show, and entertaining to boot! (I’m a woman and wouldn’t mind watching it on SpikeTV, just that I don’t have dibs on the TV in the evenings!)
