The Danville Express reports that police arrested a 22-year-old Hayward man on Wednesday after he reportedly tore a crucifix from a person’s neck and frightened other shoppers at the Stoneridge Shopping Center.

Abdul Walid Hamid, an employee at a mall kiosk near Starbucks, has been charged with battery, terrorist threats and grand theft.

According to reports, Hamid was yelling “Allah is power” and “Islam is great” while holding a pen in a fist over his head. Witnesses said he shouted anti-Christian comments, said police.

Lt. Mike Elerick of the Pleasanton Police Department said the man was not provoked and didn’t threaten violence, but he committed robbery when he grabbed and broke a crucifix off someone’s neck.

Coworkers told police that Hamid’s actions were out of the ordinary and that he had worked at the kiosk for years.

Police also said they weren’t aware of a prior criminal history for the man.

“We had multiple people calling 911,” Elerick said. “One female was crouching down and hiding from him. He definitely scared quite a few people.”

Elerick said much of the man’s speech was similar to the loud scene of the Christian activists who frequent downtown Pleasanton. The big difference, however, was that Hamid was on private property and had physical contact with someone.

They getting brave…aren’t they? I wonder why when ( our administration is so dense in their head.) They weak when it comes to stating what terrorism is. Instead they want to call it crimes. They embolden these people and they will continue to strike at America “within”. It is so easy to target us now…that the administration passed the Hate Crime Bill. Islam is planning on taking world by storm…right? Even if it means little by little!
Well…it seems like they doing a job now and we too weak to put our boots on ground and say enough is enough…get the heck out of our nation if all they do is come here to commit acts of terror and try to bring their sharia law into our wonderful nation. Do anyone get tired of hearing “allah is great”…or allah akbar…before they begin their maniac rampage of terror. What ever happen to Glory To God in Highest…oh thats right…they put God Almighty on back burner and replaced Him with allah (who is allah by the way.)
When will American’s stand up and take this nation back…From foreign people who come here to destroy this nation.

I can’t help but feel he was spurred on by the acts in Fort Hood. Considering what his fellow workers said it makes no sense otherwise.

It is likely the MOST difficult job in the whole wide world to protect our cherished
FREEDOMS and to find and curtail the actions of those citizens and non-citizens
who might do us harm. IT REQUIRES A CONSTANT EFFORT TO DETECT AND
THWORT TERRORIST OF ALL COLORS BEFORE THEY ACT! AND, WE AS CITIZENS
    MUST HELP!

MEN AND WOMEN OF HOMELAND SECURITY KEEP ON KEEPING ON!

  1. [...] A harbinger of things to come ??? I came across this piece of news from an incident at a shopping mall that took place yesterday.  What incensed me more than the incident itself was the attitude of the Lt. who investigated it.  Apparently a man shopping at the mall was attacked without provocation by another man who ripped a crucifix off his neck while shouting”Allah is power” and “Allah is great” and other anti-christian sentiments.  The perpetrator of the attack was a 22 year old mall employee by the name of Abdul Hamid who was working at one of the mall kiosks.  911 was called by some of the other frightened shoppers and the man was subdued by authorities who charged him with assault, battery and robbery.  You can read the story here:   http://www.nationalterroralert.com/updates/2009/11/11/man-charged-with-terrorist-threats-in-mall-inc…   [...]
