RNC Convention -Terrorism Charges In Alleged Plot To Incite Riot

As clashes between police and protesters subsided outside the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, county prosecutors charged eight people with conspiring to cause a riot as part of a terrorist act.
The eight suspects were arrested in connection with raids of homes in the Twin Cities that were conducted by the Ramsey County Sheriff’s Department before the convention began. Read more
RNC Protesters Attack Delegates Getting Off Bus At Convention

As the Connecticut delegation was getting off a bus near the Xcel Center, a group of protesters broke free from authorities and attacked the delegates.
Connecticut delegate Rob Simmons told FOX 9 that a group of protesters came toward his delegation and tried to rip the credentials off their necks and sprayed them with a toxic substance.
The unknown substance burned their eyes and stained their clothes.
One 80-year-old member of the delegation had to be treated for injuries, and several other delegates had to rinse their eyes and clothing.
Simmons says the incident was scary and concerning, but it won’t stop his delegation from enjoying the RNC activities. He also said that the incident hasn’t soured his image of St. Paul.

RNC Welcoming Committee Anarchists Busted – Buckets of Urine, Slingshots, Anti-bus Weapons Seized

Ramsey County sheriff’s deputies found weapons and devices to disable buses among other items in searches in the Twin Cities last night and today. Authorities said the items came from “key members of the RNC Welcoming Committee,” a self-described anarchist group.
Five people have been arrested and four properties have been searched, according to the sheriff’s office. Read more
