Several Fall Ill On United Airlines Jet – Emergency Landing At O’Hare

A plane heading to Los Angeles from Boston stopped at O’Hare International Airport Wednesday night after reports of one or more passengers falling ill.
United Airlines flight 167 landed at O’Hare about 8:30 p.m. after reports of one or more passengers sick on the plane, city Dept. of Aviation spokeswoman Karen Pride said.
According to unconfirmed reports, 12 to 16 people were sick on the plane, causing it to make an emergency landing.

UPDATE: The plane has landed safely.
American Airlines flight 1586, carrying 135 people is returning to Los Angeles International Airport ‘LAX’ after apparently blowing a tire on its left main landing gear during takeoff for Toronto.
FAA spokesman Ian Gregor says the Boeing 737 took off from the airport around 11 a.m. Tuesday. The pilot reported the problem immediately and asked to return to the airport. Read more
