Rail car incident training to take place in NKY

First responders in one tri-state community are getting critical training to help deal with a possible hazardous material incident from a train accident.

The Rural Domestic Preparedness Consortium (RDPC) tells Fox 19 that they are providing critical training to help rural first responders, government administrators, and emergency managers in Highland Heights, KY respond more effectively to a freight rail car incident.

FEMA Conducting Preparedness Drill At Nuclear Plant

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency will evaluate a Biennial Emergency Preparedness Exercise at the Limerick Generating Station in Montgomery County. The week-long exercise, which began on November 16, will test the ability of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania to respond to an emergency at the nuclear facility.

Homeland Security Terror Drill Planned for NY’s Ground Zero

Hundreds of New York police and firefighters will conduct an emergency drill on Sunday at the World Trade Center rail station, according to city officials’ announcement.

The “major, multi-agency emergency response drill” will require closing for five-and-a-half hours the PATH Station at the World Trade Center, which links southern Manhattan and the New Jersey town of Newark.
