Rocket Launcher Found During Dayton VA Threat Investigation

Two men are reportedly in custody and two local bomb squads have been called to an apartment in Miami Twp. after an investigation by the authorities at the Dayton Veterans Administration Hospital learned of a possible plot to shoot people at the facility. A rocket launch tube was found in a dumpster at the address according to Miami Twp. Deputy Police Chief John DiPietro.

Two men were being questioned after federal agents and local officers learned the men planned “to show up at the VA Center and basically shoot a bunch of people up,” police said Monday.

Police in a Dayton suburb said they’ve found guns and what appeared to be a rocket launcher while investigating a threat against a local facility.

WDTN-TV said the launcher was found in a Dumpster outside a Miami Township apartment building on Springboro Pike on Monday.

An image of the launcher looks much like a LAW, a light single-use anti-tank weapon first issued to U.S. forces in the Vietnam War era, but officials have not specified what the device is.

A search of a Miami Bluffs apartment turns up guns, ammunition, and a rocket launcher.

Federal agents worked in conjunction with local police in response a threat that was made to the Dayton VA Medical Center either late last night or early Monday morning by two people.

After obtaining permission to search the apartment from one of the suspects, police discovered the weapons and ammo. A neighbor then alerted the officers to a rocket launcher that was in a nearby dumpster.

Rocket Launcher Found In Apartment – Houston

Click2Houston reports a that a rocket launcher was discovered in a Houston apartment by police responding to a disturbance call. A woman called police on Monday and said a man was forcing his way into her apartment. When officers went inside, they found something that made them concerned enough to call the bomb squad.

The police found an AT-4 shoulder-mounted rocket launcher, which is capable of shooting a missile almost 1,000 feet through tanks and buildings. Oscar Saldivar of Top Brass Military and Tactical said that it grants infantrymen the benefit with a light-weight weapon that can easily stop armored vehicles along with primary battle tanks and fortifications.

The woman told the police that the rocket launcher was owned by Nabilaye I. Yansane, a man whom she had permitted to keep items at her home. Yansane has been arrested for criminal trespassing, and was jailed for three days.
